' The Star '
by Thaddeus Hutyra

There is enigmatic star, a special one
among joyfully shimmering stars
on the firmament of the nightly sky
One shining bright and seeming to play
as if being part of a symphony
one of the nightly sky and of the stars

Oh, the star on the nightly sky
you, my own soul, soul of me
you, the symphony of my life
the symphony of love, of heart
the guiding symphony, my angel
my best symphonic friend I ever had
Oh, my star, you the one, my soul
never leaving me, my other half

Sometimes we watch the stars
high among the cosmic pathways
we seek the star among all those stars
the one who is our and only our one
We often find one, the brightest one
only to realize it is our own soul
guiding us through our own pathways
the pathways of life, of our thumping hearts

Oh, the star on the nightly sky
you, my own soul, soul of me
you, the symphony of my life
the symphony of love, of heart
the guiding symphony, my angel
my best symphonic friend I ever had
Oh, my star, you the one, my soul
never leaving me, my other half

One lovely evening in NYC
I wandered on the Times Square
Time was running really fast
and I didn’t even noticed
the evening turned into a splashy night
I gazed up at One Times Square
or simply at theTimes Tower
and all the other skyscrapers
sometimes also gazing at the sky
and trying to touch one of the stars
with my imagination

Oh, the star on the nightly sky
you, my own soul, soul of me
you, the symphony of my life
the symphony of love, of heart
the guiding symphony, my angel
my best symphonic friend I ever had
Oh, my star, you the one, my soul
never leaving me, my other half

At a certain moment of the night
I stood dead in my tracks, astonished
a special star on the sky
caught especially my attention
She seemed to be guiding me
advising me, teaching me
talking to me, smiling at me
It was at that point I realized
the star was nothing other but … my soul

Oh, the star on the nightly sky
you, my own soul, soul of me
you, the symphony of my life
the symphony of love, of heart
the guiding symphony, my angel
my best symphonic friend I ever had
Oh, my star, you the one, my soul
never leaving me, my other half

Ever since then I am walking
to the NYC Atlantic shore
quite near of the Liberty Island
with its glorious Statue of Liberty
and I watch the nightly sky
finding then easily the star
which is my own soul, the other half
We’re chatting the whole night
smiling and singing, revealing secrets
although knowing there are no secrets
between me and my soul, the star

Oh, the star on the nightly sky
you, my own soul, soul of me
you, the symphony of my life
the symphony of love, of heart
the guiding symphony, my angel
my best symphonic friend I ever had
Oh, my star, you the one, my soul
never leaving me, my other half
